TurboTax automatically calculates your deduction for CPP/QPP contributions based on your
self-employment income and expenses. TurboTax also enters your contributions on 22200
and line 42100 (or on line 41450 of your TP1 for Québec residents) and claims the credit for
these contributions on line 31000.
TurboTax automatically prorates your contributions indicated by your date of birth or the
type of income entered in the T4A(P) entry screen.
To review and confirm the source amounts of your
deduction for CPP or QPP contributions on self-employment on line 22200:
- Select X in the upper-right corner to close the Help window.
- In the upper-right corner of your screen, select Find.
- In the Find window, type Business.
- Select Business or Professional Activities from the list, and select
Go.
Your CPP or QPP contribution is automatically calculated for you, unless you want to
make optional CPP or QPP contributions. To review and confirm your optional CPP & QPP contributions:
- Select X in the upper-right corner to close the Help window.
- In the upper-right corner of your screen, select Find.
- In the Find window, type Electing.
- Select Electing to Pay Additional CPP/QPP Contributions from the list, and select Go.
