Entering Québec other credits (line 462)


  • The refundable tax credit for medical expenses is claimed automatically when you claim the federal credit for medical expenses and Québec medical expenses.
  • Adoption expenses are claimed automatically when you claim them federally.
  • You'll claim the following credits in the PROVINCIAL section of the interview, under Québec credits profile:
    • Eligible Tax Relief Measures (amount with respect to age or for retirement income)
    • Tax credit for recent graduates working in remote resource regions
    • Tax adjustments for a lump-sum payment received such as alimony arrears or the property tax refund for forest producers
    • Tax credit for home-support services for seniors
    • Independent living tax credit for seniors
    • Tax credit for respite of caregivers
    • RénoVert tax credit
    • Received income situated on a reserve and claimed a corresponding deduction for an Indian, and that income was other than employment or correction of employment income, profit sharing plan, dividends or financial assistance
    • Tax Credit for Caregiver
  • Claim the Property tax refund for forest producers on Schedule E.
  • Claim the Tax credit for caregivers on Schedule H.
  • Claim the Tax credit for the repayment of benefits on your TP1. Enter the amount of the repayment on line 246, and enter "08" in box 461.

You'll enter the remaining other credits in the PROVINCIAL section of the interview, under Other Québec credits profile:

The remaining other credits are calculated on the Other Credits (Québec) Worksheet (QOTHER). Some of the amounts included in this line are transferred to Form QOTHER from elsewhere.

Enter the following amounts directly in the Other Credits - line 462 section of Form QOTHER:

  1. On the Other Québec credits profile screen, select the Other Québec credits not yet reported checkbox, and then click Continue.
  2. Tax credit for taxi drivers and taxi owners: Complete form TP-1029.9 and claim the amount from line 55 or line 60, whichever is less.

    To claim a credit for the modernization of the taxi fleet, submit a completed Form TP-1029.9 and statement of income with your tax return.

  3. Tax credit for taxi drivers or taxi owners: Complete form TP-1029.9 and enter the result.

    To claim a credit for the modernization of the taxi fleet, submit a completed Form TP-1029.9 and statement of income with your tax return.

  4. Tax credit for an on-the-job training period: Complete Form TP-1029.8.33.6 and enter the result. Submit this form with your return.
  5. Tax credit for the reimbursement of benefits: Enter the amount of the repayment on the second Other Québec credits screen in the Provincial section of the interview.
  6. Tax credit for income tax paid by an environmental trust: Complete Form CO-1029.8.36.53 and enter the result.
  7. Tax credit for the reporting of tips: Complete Form TP-1029.8.33.13 and enter the result.
  8. Tax credit for the treatment of infertility: Complete Form TP-1029.8.66.2-V and enter the result.
  9. Tax credit for scientific research and experimental development: Complete Form RD-1029.7 and enter the result.
  10. Tax credit for seniors' activities: Choose the lesser of $40 or 20% of the registration fees that qualify.
  11. Tax credit for a top-level athlete: Enter the amount shown on the certificate issued to you by the Secrétariat au loisir et au sport.
  12. Tax credit for volunteer respite services: Enter the total of the amounts shown in box C of the RL-23 slip provided to you by the caregiver.
  13. Tax credit for income from an income-averaging annuity for artists: Enter the amount shown in Box C-9 of your RL-2 slip.
