Reviewing your tax return

When you have entered all your tax information, you must run TurboTax Review before you can print or NETFILE your return. Review:

To start the Review, click the Reviewtab and select Get Started.

Review consists of:

The double check allows you to see everything you've entered at a glance.

To investigate a warning, click Review. After reading the review information,
  • if you find you want to go back and check or change your return, click Applies to me, or
  • If the warning doesn't apply to you, click Ignore and it will disappear from the list, or
  • click Back to return to the Warnings list if you want to return to this particular warning later.

Tax Saving Opportunities

Tax Saving Opportunities

This section examines the deductions that apply to your tax situation and lets you know of additional ones you may be entitled to.

If you think the opportunity might apply to you, click Explore to investigate further. After reading the explore information:
  • if you find you want to go back and check or change your return, click Applies to me, or
  • If this doesn't apply to you, click Ignore and it will disappear from the list, or
  • click Back to return if you may want to revisit this particular opportunity later.

Smart Tips

Smart Tips

This section lets you know about options and tax planning tips that may benefit you in a future tax year. Smart Tips are only available in TurboTax Premium and TurboTax Self-Employed. Click Explore to investigate these opportunities.

Warnings

Warnings are possible inconsistencies in your tax return - they may or may not apply to you.

To investigate a warning, click Review. After reading the review information,
  • if you find you want to go back and check or change your return, click Applies to me, or
  • If the warning doesn't apply to you, click Ignore and it will disappear from the list, or
  • click Back to return to the Warnings list if you want to return to this particular warning later.

Errors

Errors

Errors are mistakes such as missing, incomplete, or invalid information on your return. Click Fix to correct errors or provide missing information.

Errors do apply to you. You must fix them before you can use NETFILE.

Deductions and Credits Claimed

Deductions and Credits Claimed

This is a list of tax credits and deductions that are being claimed on your return. Some of these credits (such as the Canada employment amount) are claimed automatically as you completed your return.

Bottom Line

Bottom Line
At the end of Review, you'll see your refund or amount due. On this screen, you can click to see a more detailed summary of your return.
