If you used more than one vehicle for employment, enter each on its own screen.
Enter the total number of kilometres that you drove this vehicle for employment, and the total kilometres the vehicle covered in the year.
TurboTax calculates your percentage of employment use and applies it to all your motor vehicle expenses.
Enter your total expenses for the tax year (for example, the total fuel costs for this vehicle, not just the portion you spent on business trips).
If available, enter your expenses in the appropriate column.
For example, if your maintenance was $1000 plus $50 GST, you would
enter 1050 in the GST taxable column.
TurboTax calculates the allowable portion for you.
If you have a loan for the vehicle:
Enter the dates that your interest payments started and ended in the tax year.
If your interest payments began in a previous tax year, enter 01/01/2023. If they ended (or are ongoing) after the end of the tax year, enter 31/12/2023.
Enter the total amount of interest that you paid on your vehicle loan for the tax year.
TurboTax calculates the maximun interest you can deduct.
If you are claiming CCA:
Click the drop-down arrow and select the CCA class.
If you purchased the vehicle during the tax year, enter the purchase price (not including sales tax).
If you've had this vehicle for more than a year, enter any UCC.
This is the "UCC End of Year" for the vehicle on last year's T777 Statement of Employment Expenses.
Enter the proceeds of disposition if you sold or otherwise disposed of the vehicle in the tax year.
If you are leasing the vehicle:
Enter the date that your lease started.
If your lease finished (terminated) in the tax year, enter that date, otherwise leave this field blank.
