Update your printer driver

This may fix printing problems.

If the right side of your printed forms are cut off, try adjusting page margins or scaling first.

  1. Save your return and close TurboTax.
  2. Click the Windows Start menu, then Settings > Printers and Faxes .
  3. Select Add Printer.
  4. In the Add Printer Wizard, click Next.
  5. On the Local or Network Printer screen, make sure both Local printer attached to this computer and Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer are selected, then click Next.
  6. Make sure that Windows has detected the exact make and model of your printer, then click Next.

If it does not, click Next to install a printer driver manually.

  7. Make sure the port your printer is connected to is selected (usually LPT1), then click Next.
  8. If Windows did not detect the make and model of your printer correctly, choose the make and model from the list of printers, then click Next.
  9. Choose whether to use this as the default printer.
    • If you have set up your printer for specific printing needs, click No when asked to set this printer as the default printer. (For example, if you use letterhead paper and have set up your printer specifically for this paper.)
    • If you have no special printing needs, choose Yes when asked to set this printer as the default printer.
  10. If Windows asks if you want to use the existing driver or reinstall it, choose to reinstall, then click Next.
  11. When the installation is complete, click Finish.
  12. Open TurboTax.
