To change the style of your printout, the page margins, and which fonts to use when printing, from the File menu, select Page Setup.
Some printer drivers specify margins incorrectly and require custom settings before forms will print correctly.
Enter values (ranging from 0.5" to -0.5") for the top and bottom margins. The values you enter here are added to the fixed margins of your printer. Most printers cannot print the full width of an 8.5" wide page and have a fixed margin of about 1/4". For these printers, you should specify zero inches for an additional left margin.
Scaling allows you to adjust the scale at which your returns are printed. Generally, leave scaling at the default of 100% of normal size. However, if your printer cannot print 10 1/2 inches or more in length, or more than 8 inches in width, then you should adjust scaling downwards to overcome this printer limitation.
In general, you should leave both options turned on for the final copy that you are going to file. Although this program has approval from the CRA for forms printed without underlines and outlines, this does make the forms more difficult to read and may unnecessarily delay the processing of your return. At the very least, try to print with field underlines and outlines on.
To print, you must have the True Type font Arial installed on your system. This is a standard font, so unless you have removed it, it will already be installed. If for some reason, you do not have it on your system, you will need to reinstall it from your Windows CD-ROM.
The default font for printing is Arial. However, you can print forms using other fonts, if you prefer.
