Save your return as a .PDF file

Make sure your social insurance number (SIN) is correct in the Personal Information section.

You need to complete the Payment Details before you can do this, even if your return qualifies for TurboTax Freedom.

Complete your return and review it for errors.

You can't create a PDF of an individual form - your entire return is included in the PDF.

  1. From the File menu, select Print > Print Return.
Tip: Shortcut - click Print on the task bar.
  2. Work through the interview until you reach the File section.
  3. On the Saving and printing a copy of your return for your records screen, click Download [NAME's] Federal Return.

This opens your return as a .PDF file in a new browser window.

In Quebec, your federal and Quebec returns are separate. In other provinces, the provincial forms are part of the CRA Return.

  4. At the top of the browser window, click the File menu and select Save As.
The Save a Copy window opens. If you don't like the default settings, you can:
    • change the Save in: location at the top of the window, or
    • adjust the File name: at the bottom of the window, as long as you don't change the .pdf ending.
  5. Click the X in the top right of the browser screen to close the PDF.
  6. Click Continue to go on.
