Detailed Tax Summary

The Detailed Tax Summary (Form DSUM) shows the important amounts from your tax return and lets you compare them to figures from the prior year or to amounts from your spouse or common-law partner's tax return. These comparisons are an excellent way to ensure that you have included everything with your return.

  1. Click on the Forms icon (or press Ctrl+F) and then typeType DSUM into the Keyword to search for box to open your Detailed Tax Summary.
  2. Click Prior Year to compare your tax results with your results from the prior year. This comparison is only available if you transferred information from last year's file.
  3. Click Spouse to compare your tax results with the results of your spouse or common-law partner. When Spouse is selected, the % column describes the percentage that your amounts contribute to the combined total on the return. If you have not prepared a combined return with your spouse, your percentage will be 100%.
Note: Form DSUM is automatically printed when you print your tax return. Do not file it with your return - it is provided for your information only.
